Taking care of yourself

Self care is an essential part of leading a healthy and balanced lifestyle. Taking time out of your day to practice self care activities can be incredibly beneficial for your physical, mental  plus spiritual health. Some effective self care strategies include taking a relaxing bath, going for a walk, spending time with friends and family, reading a book, listening to music, meditating, and journaling. It’s important to prioritize self care and make it a routine part of your day! We tend to not do things for ourselves for a few reasons; we put people before us, we don’t have time due to work, children, friends, family, etc. Or even the fact that we are so a custom to being around people majority of the time. We are not comfortable with being alone, it’s boring, don’t know what to do if either a specific person or people are not around.

Going for a walk at the mall, the park, even around the block where you live is beneficial because you are helping your blood pump, heart pump, you’re moving the body ( doesn’t have to be hardcore but your moving). Doing this alone helps you to think differently, how? you may ask, there’s no one there for you to ask their opinion, or how they feel, or what they may want, you would ask yourself these questions and then you would start to trust yourself and the more you do these different activities alone the better and easier it’ll be.

You'll start being comfortable with going places and doing things with yourself! If you’re a person that’s not use to doing things or being alone, it may feel weird at first but that’s okay, don't beat yourself up things like this takes time. We all have to be patient with ourselves.
